Here to Support Your Mental Health Journey

Tatiana Cruz is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a strong foundation in person-centered and cognitive-behavioral approaches to care. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Sacred Heart University and a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from CUNY Hunter College.
Tatiana has worked with a wide range of clients, from elementary school-aged children to adults, and has experience supporting individuals navigating anxiety, depression, life adjustments, family dynamics, personality disorders, OCD-related concerns, and individuals on the autism spectrum. She approaches therapy with the belief that mental health is not a destination, but an ongoing journey that deserves patience, support, and understanding.

My Approach to Care

Tatiana emphasizes the collaborative nature of the therapeutic process and believes that the most effective work happens when clients remain in the driver’s seat of their own lives. She views therapy as a partnership in which clients lead, explore, and make decisions, while she provides guidance, structure, and support along the way.
Grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and informed by training in Applied Behavior Analysis and Anger Replacement Theory, Tatiana approaches her role as a supportive “human GPS,” helping clients explore different options, paths, and timing while honoring each client’s autonomy and decision-making.

Professional Background and Philosophy

Tatiana’s passion for mental health work grew from her own experience exploring and navigating her mental health with the support of a professional. Combined with her academic training and professional experience, this shaped her appreciation for research, science, and the complexity of psychology and human behavior. She values continuous learning and is committed to showing up for others with curiosity, care, and humility.

Personal Interests

Outside of her work as a counselor, Tatiana enjoys traveling and exploring new places, often through food and culture. She has a strong interest in cooking and is currently expanding her skills in baking. In her downtime, she enjoys unwinding with long-running television series and values making space for both rest and curiosity outside of the therapy room.
